Dr. Ehsan Alam has joined ACOSSM as an interventional medical spine specialist. He is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician who completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Metro Health Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, Case Western Reserve University. This was followed by fellowship training at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio in medical spine program, where he specialized in non-surgical management of various spine disorders. His interventional skills include performing lumbar epidural injections, facet joint and medial branch block, radio-frequency ablation, midline/caudal injections, discography and sacroiliac and hip joint injections. He is also proficient in performing EMGs and also treats spinal and various musculoskeletal pain disorders through medical acupuncture which incorporates trigger point deactivation, percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, energetics, osteopuncture and auricular acupuncture.

Dr. Alam received the best resident research award during his residency at Case Western Reserve University and his current research interests include: role of steroids in radiculitis and acupuncture treatment for lumbar post-laminectomy patients.
