Dr. Roth, a native Marylander who grew up in Cecil County, is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the combined Sinai-Johns Hopkins Program in 1994. Before her residency, she was a General Medical Officer in the United States Air Force for three years.

Before joining ACOSSM, Dr. Roth was a part-time instructor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In working for the department of PM&R she had the opportunity to work as an attending physician on inpatient rehabilitation units at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Union Memorial Hospital, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Other work experience has included a staff physiatrist position at the Maryland Rehabilitation Center, which is part of the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Rehabilitation Services. This position involved vocational rehabilitation services. She has also worked in a private practice setting with an established physiatrist.
