In March, 2008, Dr. Stacey Berner served on the faculty at the Miami Hand Reconstruction Meeting and presented Arthroscopic Ganglionectomy: Pearls and Pitfalls. He also taught a course on Small Bone Fixation Systems at the Philadelphia Hand Meeting.
Our Dr. David Silber, spoke at the Northwest Hospital Medical Grand Rounds meeting on Latest Developments in Joint Replacement Surgery, including new technology in hip & knee replacement surgery, minimally invasive joint replacement, & partial or unicompartmental knee replacement, & current protocols for perioperative management to facilitate more rapid postoperative recovery.
As of Jan., 2008, Dr. Vincent Rollo is the only orthopedist in Carroll County (and one of only a few of surgeons statewide) certified by the Board of Orthopedic Surgery in the subspecialty of Sports Medicine.

On September 8, 2006, Dr. Stacey Berner served as course chairman for the instructional course, Innovations in Small Joint Arthroscopy, at the annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand in Washington, DC. He also presented on arthroscopic wrist ganglion resection, and arthroscopic reconstruction of the arthritic thumb joint.

Dr. Stacey Berner served as director of a hands-on course for Arthroscopic Thumb Joint Reconstruction on November 5, 2005. The course was given at the Vista Center in Baltimore, MD, and was attended by hand surgeons from around the United States.

On Sept 30, 2004 drugmaker Merck and Co. announced an immediate voluntary worldwide withdrawal of it's arthritis drug Vioxx. The drugmaker said an ongoing trial shows the medication raises risk of heart attack and strokes. Patients are advised to stop the drug immediately and to contact their physician for further instructions.
