Post Operative Care Instructions for Kyphoplasty

1. You may resume your regular diet as soon as you are able.

2. You may shower. The dressing is waterproof and may be washed over and removed in two (2) to three (3) days. Keep the incision(s) clean and dry.

3. NO LIFTING, TWISTING OR BENDING! As a general rule you should not be doing any heavy lifting or frequent bending now or in the future.

4. We encourage you to walk inside and outside, including climbing stairs as much as you can tolerate.

5. No driving until we have notified you that it is permitted.

6. Make an appointment now to see Dr. Brager approximately two (2) weeks from your discharge date from the hospital.

7. Take the anti-inflammatory and pain medications prescribed to you as directed.
