Alvin K. Antony, M.D.
Alvin K. Antony, MD is our resident "Tar Heel". He received his B.S. in biology from Duke University where he received numerous honors including graduating Magna cum laude, and membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine where he was a member of the John B. Graham Student Research Honor Society. Dr. Antony was a chief resident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hills Hospital where he performed his residency. He also completed a fellowship in sports and interventional spine medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, one of the premier musculoskeletal centers in the country.
Special areas of interest for Dr. Antony include epidural steroid injections, cervical and lumbar facet injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency denervations, lumbar discograms, IDETs, nucleoplasty, SI joint injections, intraarticular joint injections, trigger point injections and NCS/EMG.
Dr. Antony is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also a diplomat of that organization.
In addition to helping patients with their rehabilitation, Dr. Antony enjoys travel, golf, indoor soccer, skiing, running and computer programming. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Malayalam.
